"Fairhaven Lake and Golf Links after the sea broke through the sea wall during a storm on 6 October 1896. The photograph was taken from opposite St Paul's Avenue, looking towards Lytham. The golf club's bungalow is in the distance; the railway track to the left is now Inner Promenade. The club subsequently moved; the bungalow later became the Lakeside Cafe"

The image appears as image no 89 in "Lytham St Annes: a pictorial history" (1995) by Robert Haley with the above description.
