Looking towards the site of the Legs of Man Inn (bushes where road curves to the right). This and the nearby Bull's Head Inn were where it is said that George Lyon (hanged in 1815 for a later crime) and his accomplices planned their robbery of the Liverpool mail coach at Tawd Bridge. This crime gave him the reputation of a highwayman.
