General notes
The Imperial Hydro(pathic) Hotel was built 1909-1910 on North Promenade, St.Annes-on-Sea. In 1920, it was renamed The Majestic Hotel. During the latter part of World War I, the hotel was used to house officers. The building was demolished in the 1970's to make way for an apartment building.

Futher along the promenade some of the 'Porritt' houses can be seen. These stone-built residential villas on the North Promenade were built by William Porritt at the turn of the century for the new Victorian middle-classes. They subsequently became known as "The Porritt Houses". Most of these still remain as hotels or converted flats
