Photograph shows exhibits presented as evidence in the "Sandhills Murder", 1919. Frederick Rothwell Holt was hanged in 1920, having been found guilty of the murder of Kathleen Breaks who was found dead lying among the sand dunes on the beach at St Annes on Sea, a crime locally known as the "Sandhills Murder". A plea of insanity was rejected, and Frederick Holt was hanged by public hangman John Ellis.
