General notes
Formerly known as St.George's Gardens, these were renamed as Ashton Gardens in honour of Lord Ashton who bought the land and donated it to the "inhabitants of St.Annes-on-Sea" in 1914. The postcard is addressed to Mrs. Kenyon. The message reads: "We are very comfortable here & would be spending a very happy holiday if it were not for the harassing tension. If anything serious happens, we shall return home immediately. I do hope you & Arthur are well. Phil is away in Skegness. We both send you our love & remembrance. R.W."
