General notes
Formerly known as St.George's Gardens, these were renamed as Ashton Gardens in honour of Lord Ashton who bought the land and presented the gardens to the "inhabitants of St.Annes-on-Sea" in 1914. The gardens originally consisted of 14.5 acres of land which was re-shaped at a cost of nearly 26,000 pounds.
