The Lifeboat Memorial was erected to commemorate the lives of those men lost in the Mexico Disaster in 1886. St.Anne's Collegiate School can be seen in the background of the postcard. The postcard is addressed to a Miss Spruce, Hyde Park, Leeds. The message reads: "We are having perfect weather, but have had a disappointing day. R. never turned up & we have been waiting about all day. I think it is a shame Myra went home for Sunday. Will write tomorrow. Love Amy"
