General notes

The view on the postcard looks North towards Blackpool. The Bandstand and Lifeboat Memorial can be seen in the background. Message on the postcard reads: "I hope you are keeping well. My aunt is staying here and asked me for Easter. I stay until Thursday. I had a long walk yesterday by the shore. We are going to Blackpool one day. Ada." We make historic images from our collections freely available online for people to enjoy and use in personal research. We are also committed to protecting people's privacy and complying with copyright legislation.

• When most historic photographs of people were taken, consent to publish online was not explicitly granted by them.

• The copyright status of photographs is often hard to establish, particularly when the photographer is not known and there is uncertainty about when the photograph was taken.
