General notes
Old Peoples Cottages built in 1935 from the stone of Lomeshaye House, which occupied the site until 1934.
Built in 1757 by Richard Ecroyd the house was donated to the workers of Lomeshaye Mill in 1926.
In 1934 the mill owners went bankrupt and house was put at auction along with the Mill.
No bids were made on the house, so the council made a reduced offer for the house, with the intension of creating the bungalows.
At the top of the image is Spring Bank Mill.
In the early 1980s The M65 Motorway was constructed in the land between the cottages and Spring Bank.
