General notes

The new Woolworths under construction. It opened c1975.
The original F.W. Woolworths was situated between Scotland Road and Leeds Road, with entrances on both roads.
Note that Railway Street has already been fenced off from through traffic. This pedestrian only idea would grow to cover the entire town centre by mid 1980s.
The demolished area included Tickle Street, Vine Street, and Hall Street and contained a large number of local shops.
No where near on the same standard of development as the Arndale, the new Woolworths and other units were soon dated and dilapidated.
