General notes
The first Lancaster Dispensary on Castle Hill was demolished in 1902 to allow the extensions of the Storey Institute to be built. The plaque above the doorway which represents the parable of the Good Samaritan was removed to the 2nd and 3rd Dispensaries and finally to the Lancaster Royal Infirmary where it can still be seen above the main entrance.
