The West End area of Morecambe taken in 1938, with a view to publish as a postcard.
The area's garden and bowls area seems to have the same growth and development level as in a previous archive of the Morecambe central gardens. Taken by the same photographer/publisher it could be assumed that this photograph was taken at the same time.
The publisher, fashion; such as short sleeves and sun hats, foliage growth, and the public engaging in activities such as bowls, all suggest late spring/early summer time.
The area we today know as the Battery can be seen in the background; confirming the area.
