General notes
Three Ribble buses photographed in the MarketSquare, Preston, outside the Harris Museum and Art Gallery. CK471 is a 1913 40 h.p. Karrier double decker, one of the original fleet taken over by Ribble Motor Services in 1919 from Mr. James Hodson of Gregson Lane who acquired it in 1918. It caught fire at Wingates near Bolton in 1921, was badly damaged and put out of service. The other two are the early Daimler Y type vehicles which Ribble operated in the 1920's.
