Alterations to rear of 9 cottages
Conditions before alterations: Unflagged common yard. Stonework of privy-pail closets, coal-places and ashplaces in very dilapidated state. Old combined drain. Lead pipes and gullies to sink wastes broken or defective. Rain-water pipes broken. Water main required renewing.
Alterations carried out: New structures erected for closets and coal-places. Fresh-water closets installed. Sanitary bins with covers provided. New and separate system of drainage to each house. New water main laid. Yard surface covered with asphalte[sic]. Separate opening for each house formed in yard wall and doors provided for same. Yard fencing erected between each house to ensure more privacy.
