Red Lion pub. Photo taken from Union St across Market Street, Chorley. This was an old coaching house at the corner of Mealhouse Lane. Next to it is Stones Grocery shop. Mr Stone was a prominent member of the council. The White Hart which replaced the Red Lion was set back facing Mealhouse Lane and the other buildings besides the Red Lion had to be cleared to make room. Places.
