This building contained drapers, boot shop, and a café. To the right are the District Bank and T. Clark & son Saddlers. Next to this is a further Co-op Store was located on the end of Railway Street, containing chemist and clothing shops.
In 1960 it became part of the CRS (Co-operative Retail service)
The frontage of the store has been recently' been modernised'
In 1969 a department store, named Quality House was opened in the Arndale Centre, on this site.
It was not a long term success, and it closed on 6th June 1998, ending the Co-op's representation in Nelson.
