General notes
View along Houghtons Lane towards Tawd Road. The building in the centre is Digmoor Chapel. The house on the right is Scarisbrick Farm and its barn is on the left, both now demolished. It was last farmed by Richard and Mabel Valentine and their son Richard. There was a path through the woods on the left which led to Houghtons and Elmers delphs, a former quarry like area filled with water. Elmers was the largest with vertical rock faces towering some 60 to 70 feet above the water. The locals called this "the mazy".
