Leyland Straight 8 car built 1920-1924
Leyland
"Designed by J G Parry Thomas and buit at Leyland from 1920-1924, This car was raced at Brooklands in 1928 and lapped at 128mph"
On display at a leyland motors openday, it was in the apprentice training centre at Leyland Motors in the late 60s and the ‘advanced’ fitting apprentices helped with the restoration. The car still exists and now resides in the British Motor Museum at Gaydon in the Midlands.
Not this particular car, but it was a Leyland Eight which Michaels Collins, the famous Irish revolutionary, was a passenger in when he was ambushed and killed in 1922.
