Shown here is the Wheel under construction in 1896. Located near the Winter Gardens, the Wheel weighed 1,000 tons, stood 220 feet high and had 30 carriages. After it's removal in 1928, many of it's carriages were sold off to heritage fans.
The image was taken from a book, possibly a town guide, and Studio D Photography and Design of Blackpool have kindly given us permission to use the image.
