This is the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption located on Yorkshire Street. Construction work began in 1846 and took three years to complete. It was designed to seat 1,200 people and cost nearly £15,000 to build. When the plans were drawn up, they included a 180 ft. spire, but this was not included in the finished church because of possible subsidence issues.
