Reconstruction of an accident to George Dearden of Great Harwood at Moorfield Works on Feb 23rd 1933. The deceased was lifting No 119 wagon door, when train of trucks commenced to move a second time. Despite shouts to "Drop it", he hung on to the door and was trapped between the door and the concrete pillar. The door had stuck to the hinge, the white mark on the floor, engine requested to ease wagon, it moved a few inches, then stopped. When the door was lifted, then restarted, causing the accident. The deceased sustained a fractured and exposed Ulna and Radius, crushed lower ribs with protrusion of intestines and bowels through wound in side. The accident occurred at 10.15am. He was taken to the ambulance room and then to Accrington Victoria Hospital where he died about 12. 30pm. The inquest was on Saturday 25th February 1933, the verdict was Accidental death.
