P.C. 36 Accrington Borough Police - P.C. Paintin in P.O.W. uniform (seated). He received the military medal during the First World War for smuggling mustard gas into the country. Taken prisoner whilst serving with the Grenadier Guards, he killed two of his guards in order to escape.
