General notes
In process of demolition. Home of the Lancaster, Marquis, Ingram and Bury families, later being occupied by Dr. Hanna and Dr. Bolton.
Pleck house and the land by which it was surrounded were acquired by a firm of builders for the purpose of erecting a number of up to date shops (Steinway House). Pleck House was for many years the home of Mr William Bury, who, with his brother Samuel, founded the cotton manufacturing firm of Bury Bros. Dr Bolton's widow was living there at the time the property was sold. The Labour Party at one time contemplated negotiating for the site, with the intention of erecting a new Labour Hall.
