"With the first boat commissioned in 1917, L class submarines served in the closing stages of the Great War, and were mostly scrapped in the 1930s, with the last three scrapped in 1946 after being used by the Royal Navy as training boats.
HMS L18 was laid down as a Group 2 variant by Vickers at Barrow-in-Furness on 22nd June 1917, launched there on 21st November 1918 and was complete by 15th May 1919. HMS L18 was sold for scrap in Pembroke Dock in October 1936."
