Photograph shows children at a Pendle School's sports day held at Seedhill, Nelson. The track was opened on the 30th September 1978 by Ron Hill, who ran for Britain in two olympic marathons. It is a county standard, six lane, floodlit 400m track. Recently, the track benefitted from a grant to upgrade the running surface as part of the legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The bridge in the background carries the M65 over Carr Road.
