07/09/1954 To Iago Steam Trawlers Ltd, London and renamed RED FALCON (LO4).
She was transferred to Fleetwood and was the last coal burning trawler in the Iago fleet.
The trawler was lost with 19 crewmen when she disappeared in a storm of hurricane force near Skerryvore Lighthouse when returning to Fleetwood from Icelandic waters.
The Red Falcon had set off on her last voyage on 25th November 1959 and sailed to the Icelandic fishing grounds with the trawler Red Sabre. They fished together and turned for home at the same time, keeping in contact on the return voyage. The Red Sabre was 70 miles ahead and advised the crew of the Red Falcon to avoid the tidal race off Islay and this was acknowledged. The vessel had been expected back into Fleetwood on 15th December, but was never heard from again. Lifeboat floorboards and two lifebuoys stamped 'Red Falcon' were washed up 25 miles north of the vessels last known position. An official enquiry into the tragedy was held in July 1960 and a memorial service took place on Sunday 27th December 1959 at St. Peter's Parish Church, Fleetwood.
