Brierfield
Photograph shows Brierfield Mill from the opposite side of the canal. The chimney in the distance belongs to Lob Lane shed, also known as Brierfield Shed and Lob Lane Brigde, Clitheroe Road. Brierfield Mill was founded by Henry Tunstill in 1838 and was expanded by his sons following his death in 1854. It was later aquired by Smith and Nephew, surgical bandage manufacturers, who later became BSN Medical. They ceased operations in the mill in 2006 and the building was eventually aquired by Pendle Borough Council. It is currently undergoing redevelopment.
