Action from the 'Flick my Lit' catwalk show at Burnley Library for 'Library Couture', a cultural collaboration between Lancashire Libraries' Cultural Youth Offer, Rene Boutique, Alison White Creative and Severnside Recycling. The idea is simple and winningly effective and turns the original 80s notion of "heroin chic" right on its pretty head: to recycle library paper waste into exclusively stylish avant- garde paper dresses and garments all based on the most fashionable of literature's heroines. Eight heroines (including two heroes) from all eras of modern literature are reflected in a series of origami dresses, patterns and garments that will exist as the living style embodiments of the county's and nation's library classics.
