General notes
Waddington is a village 2 miles n.w. of Clitheroe. The Old Hall is in the centre of the village.
The greater part of the medieval building is still in existence. It was at Waddington Old Hall where King Henry VI took refuge after the great battle of Hexham in 1464; he was captured and died confined to the Tower of London.
This oak panel in the dining room shows King Henry giving up his sword to Talbot of Bashall and so his throne.
