Protest near Swansey Lane on Preston Road to call for a crossing after someone had been killed on the A6. The couple are Arnold Collison and his wife, and their grandchildren. Mr Collison was a stoker at Boothman's Mill in Swansey Lane, where Harry Greenwood was manager. His wife Doris, and daughter Audrey (later Johnson) worked as weavers there. Out of picture on the left is Bankside, and on the right Swansey garage which is still there (2011). Information from Mari Buckley and Audrey Johnson.
