General notes
Work on the stretch of motorway between Burnley and Brierfield began in March 1978 and the section was opened to traffic in October 1981. The photograph was taken from the new bridge taking Clitheroe Rd over Pendle Water. In the background can be seen the earlier Quakers in Pendle bridge.
