Goods Train on Furness Railway
Silverdale
This picture may need a little more research- the Furness Railway did have a No. 17, but it didn't have six wheels, only four! The train itself looks rather less detailed then the background image, and may have been touched up a little by Bird.
A sister engine to No. 17 is preserved in its original state. It was one of a batch of eight built in 1863-66 by Sharp Stewart and Co.

This looks like the train is heading towards Barrow and is just passing under the bridge over Ford Lane at Waterslack, with Challan Hall Cottages behind, past the Distant Signal for Arnside Signal Box, just short of Milepost 5.
