Workmen in Haslam Street, Rawtenstall begin the first stage of demolition in preparation for a redevelopment scheme which will completely transform the central area. Haslam Street was situated at the back of the Town Hall and was once the siting of the tramway depot. The building at the end of the street was the Methodist Chapel which once occupied the site that the police station is built on.
