General notes
John Dixon and Sam Holden gave the land for Barrowford Park, the people of Barrowford raised the money for the recreation ground. Barrowford Council took possession on the 25th March 1924. The park was dedicated as a memorial to those who had fallen in WW1. The lake was originally the mill pond for Old Mill and was fed by a weir just downstream from Park Hill bridge. The small island in the centre of the lake is a home for duck and moorhen.
