General notes

Photograph shows weavers cottages in Fall Barn Fold in Rawtenstall. Many of the buildings near to it, including Albion Mill which can just be seen to the right of the cottages, have since been demolished. The cottages still exist today and are situated next to Rawtenstall Health Centre. The loom shop built in the 1700s was preserved through the campaining of the Civic Society and is now a museum.
