General notes

Cattle in a field just below Southfield Farm. In the distance on the hillside can be seen Lane House Farm and above it, on the skyline, Sprinfield; which was built between 1927 and 1933. To the left of Springfield can be seen the roof of Haggate Baptist Chapel. The chapel opened in 1866, replacing an earlier chapel which had become too small for the increasing congregation. After over a century of service the chapel was demolished in 2001, services now being held in the refurbished former Sunday School.
