Stydd Almshouses, Stydd Lane, Ribchester. The Almshouse are grade II* listed. They were established in 1726 by the provisions of the will of John Shireburn, the owner of the Stydd Manor estate. Accomodation was to be provided for the teacher at the Catholic school and 'five poor, old single women professing the Roman Catholic religion'.
