General notes
the extensive use of manpower for any major project is displayed in the image in the 1930's when Park Hall Rd which now links the A49 at Charnock with the villages was under construction. Prior tot his time traffic had to drop and climb out of a steep valley known as Whittle Bottoms - a road flooded by Sydbrook in wet weather and a steep climb out of the valley at any time of year.
