General notes
Photograph shoes the Grand Theatre on left and the back of the Public Library on the right. St Mary's Old Vicarage can be seen behind the trees and the side and pillars of Haslingden Road United Methodist Chapel, now St. Mary's Chambers, can be seen at the centre of the photograph. (The entrance of the Chapel went straight out on to the main road. In 1949 it became the headquarters of the local branch of the "Old Age Pensioners' Association". The Grand Theatre was demolished in 1938. You can also see the criss-cross of the electric tram wires and the tram lines from the trams in use at that time. This photograph was used again for postcard at 35456.
