It was reported in 1900 that the Whit Monday festival ranked first and foremost of the yearly events in the village of Slaidburn. Central to the festival was the Slaidburn Silver Band that played concerts and led processions around the village. This photograph shows one such procession crossing Slaidburn Bridge.
