Officially known as the Abraham Ormerod Convalescent Home, it was founded in 1891 and demolished in 1974. By 1924 it contained 125 beds.
Girls were received from the ages of 5-14, and boys from the ages of 5-10. The Home was open to visitors from 2 until 5pm each day.
