Railway Bridge, Lomeshaye Road
Nelson
The bridge was added to Lomeshaye Road in 1851, when the railway line was taken through the then area of Marsden and Little Marsden.
The road linked Lomeshaye Mill to the Halifax turnpike road. Above the bridge is the area of Barley field, where three Story weaving cottages were located.
Below the bridge Middle-class terrace housing was built in the late 19th century.
The Star Cycling Club can be seen at the far side of the bridge. Pendle Hill is in the distance.
