A photograph of father and son (Harry and James Smith) sailing down the canal in their small steam powered craft the 'Mermaid'. The boat was built by Harry who was a canal boat carpenter. Harry was the husband of Maud Smith who is featured in photographs of her grocers' shop on Cow Lane. It is believed that the photograph was taken near to Finsley Wharf. The picture was donated by Mr Taylor of Worsthorne.
