A portrait photograph of Richard 'Dick' Draper (39 Bivell Street) the Gannow Tunnel Tugmaster taken in 1937 for the Burnley Express. A tunnel had to be constructed under the Gannow area of Burnley for the canal to pass through. There was no room for a tow path, so a tug was required to get boats from one end to the other.
