View of the old Tawd bridge over the River Tawd on the border of Skelmersdale and Upholland. The road in the centre is Wigan Road and the farm house in the centre was Tawd Farm/ Charity Farm owned by the Peter Lathom Charity and farmed by the Valentine family until it was demolished. The area to the right was known as Elm Bank. The area behind the photographer was known as Tawd Bridge with houses, shops and a public house, now demolished.
