Kirkham Windmill was built in 1812 on Carr Hill in Kirkham. The point is said to be the highest point in the Fylde and was once the site of an old Roman Fort. The Mill was eventually converted into living accommodation. The Parish Church spire can be seen in background.
The postcard is addressed to Miss Bill Farrell, Carlisle. The message reads: "Dear B. this his A splendid Piece it his A little further up Preston St. hope you lilke it J"
