General notes
A photograph of the bottom of Moor Lane, where it meets Church Street, Burnley Road and Gawthorpe Street.
The shop on the left hand side is John Hoole's drapers. It opened for business at number one Moor Lane in c1899. Next door, at number three, is John Flannaghan's confectioners, which moved in to the property in c1908. On the opposite side of Gawthorpe Street is Alfred Cooper's tripe dressing shop. He set up business there in c1902, but it had been a tripe dresser's for a number of years previous to that.
