General notes

Photograph is looking north from Queensgate, Nelson. The first houses on Queensgate were built in the 1930's. More were added in the 1960's. Stanley Bracewell lived there for a short time and this view, looking north, was probably taken from the front bedroom of his house. The church spire is that of St Mary's . In the centre of the photograph is the tower of the rebuilt St Thomas's church, Barrowford, the original having been badly damaged by fire in 1964.
