General notes

A further view of Christ Church, Chatburn taken from the main road. This view is before the school, which stands between the road and church, was built. The church was consecrated on 18th September 1838 by the Bishop of Chester. On the 3rd of May 1854 the spire was struck by lightning. The spire and tower were damaged and repaired by the Autumn of 1854. It is an Anglican church and was enlarged between 1882-1883.
