General notes

The main entrance to St. John's Roman Catholic church in Padiham.

The foundation stone was laid on the 11th May 1863 and opened a year later. The church was built on land adjoining Padiham cemetery on land that had previously been occupied by cottages. In 1914, the road in front of the church was renamed St. John's road, in recognition of the church that served the area.
